I’m still working with powder charges but so far I have excellent groups at 100 yards and fair-good at 150 with the PT 260

Not What I Expected.

I have used the Hornady XTP 44 cal 300 grain bullet in my Knight MK 85 with great results, I wanted to give the bigger 45 cal bullet at the same weight a try. I use a 120 grain charge of pyrodex in the gun which it seem to shoot well no matter the bullet. The first 3 shots with that charge gave me keyholes on all shots, I then started trying to vary the powder charge by dropping it 10 grains with each 3 shot group all the way down to 90 grains and I couldn't get a group the didn't keyhole.

I did examine the sabots I found and they showed no signs of engagement with the rifling of the barrel.

I'm sure these may shoot fine in other guns and maybe in the same gun as mine for other hunters but mine didn't like them at all.
